• This week the Edgar Brothers team had the privilege of being invited to attend the Royal Marines PW2 Instructor Close Quarter Marksmanship (CQM) phase of the course. This is the first RM PW2 Ins Course the Knight's Armament Company - KS1 under Project HUNTER has been fielded.
• The Royal Marines Platoon Weapon Instructor Class 2 course (PW2) is an 11 week long course designed to prepare aspirant PW2s for their role in a Royal Marines (RM) Dismounted Close Combat (DCC) Company. The first five weeks are centred around Close Quarter Marksmanship and Close Quarter Combat, culminating in clearances using live ammunition. The centre section of the course covers combat operations in the subterranean, trench system and woodland environments. The final three weeks cover long range rifle marksmanship, using the sharpshooter rifle. At the end of the course PW2s will not only be Subject Matter Experts in the above, but also capable of planning and delivering realistic training for those environments.
• The Edgar Brothers team remained on hand to support the PW Course instructors when appropriate. In addition the team took the opportunity to pass on first hand J3 & J7 experience with the KS1 platform and talk through weapon setup/configuration options as well as delivering an Edgar Brothers company presentation to the course.
• The impressive level of proficiency in weapon manipulation and accuracy achieved by the students in such a short timeframe speaks volumes about not only the KS1 but the professionalism and expertise of the instructors.
